Frames of peepli [Live]

Images of my first film Peepli Live, made under Amir khan productions, directed by Anusha Rizvi. I played the character of Thanedar Juggan who is very loyal to local politician who gave the idea of committing suicide for the sake of money.

Peepli Live is a 2010 Indian comic satire that explores the topic of "farmer suicides" and the subsequent media and political response. It is written and directed by Anusha Rizvi in her directorial debut, and produced by Aamir Khan Productions. The film stars Naya Theatre company member Omkar Das Manikpuri as well as Naseeruddin Shah, Raghubir Yadav, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shalini Vatsa and Malaika Shenoy along with a number of newcomers. Peepli Live, distributed by UTV Motion Pictures, was released on 13 August 2010.

Peepli Live was India's official entry for the 83rd Academy Awards Best Foreign Film category, however it didn't make the final shortlist.

I m an actor engaged with theater from last 30 years. Habib Tanvir is my guru & Naya Theatre is my Gurukul. I was associated with National School Of Drama Repertory Co. New Delhi,India for 7 years. I have received Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar'07 by Sangeet Natak Academy for the contribution in theatre (acting). Acted in aamir khan production's peepli [live] as Thanedar Jugan and Deepa Mehta's film based on Salman Rushdie's Novel Mid Night's Children,Miss Tanakpur Hazir Ho, Hindi Medium,Wah Taj, Batti Gul Meter Chalu and few more.
